How to Prepare for a Pet Sitter Visit

A thoughtful handoff helps your pet feel secure and gives your sitter everything needed for a calm, dependable visit. Use this checklist before your Stay With Lacy Meet & Greet or first appointment.

    Share your pet’s routine

    Write down meal times, portions, walking or litter schedules, preferred sleeping spots, play habits, and any behavior cues that help your sitter understand your pet.

    Organize food and medications

    Set out enough food, treats, medications, and supplies for the full visit, plus a little extra. Label medications clearly and review instructions together during the Meet & Greet.

    Make your home easy to navigate

    Leave key items in one clear place, including leashes, carriers, cleaning supplies, veterinarian information, and emergency contacts. Point out door locks, alarm instructions, trash, cords, and any areas that should stay off-limits.

    Set expectations before you leave

    Confirm arrival windows, update preferences, home-care requests, and the best way to reach you while you travel. A complete Meet & Greet gives everyone time to review the plan before the first service.
