The Person Behind the Paws
Meet Lacy Jones
A lifelong animal lover, a trusted caregiver, and the person your pet will be thrilled to see at the door.
20
Years of Experience
A Lifelong Love of Animals.
I'm Lacy Jones, a lifelong animal lover and experienced caregiver raised with multiple dogs, cats, and a wide variety of pets. Animals have been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember, and that upbringing shaped everything about how I approach care.
My promise to every family I work with: dependable, detail-oriented care delivered with warmth and discretion. I treat your home with respect, your pet with genuine affection, and your trust as something that's earned, not assumed.
When you're away, whether it's a long workday or a week-long trip, your pet stays home, stays comfortable, and stays in the hands of someone who truly cares.
I'm also a proud co-founder of The HoneyOnDuty Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bringing certified therapy dog healing to hospice patients, first responders, and communities in need. Learn more about the project.
"Caring for animals isn't just what I do. It's who I am."

In Lacy's Own Words
The Story Behind Stay With Lacy
How Stay With Lacy Was Born
People ask me all the time how I got into pet sitting. The truth? I didn't "get into" it. I grew up in it. I've had animals around me my entire life — dogs, cats, you name it. When I was little, I was the kid who wanted to hold every puppy at the park, who begged my parents to let me feed the neighbor's cat while they were on vacation. Animals just made sense to me in a way that nothing else did. As I got older, that never changed. I wanted to spend my days with animals — not in a clinic, not behind a desk, but in their homes, in their space, where they feel safe. That's how Stay With Lacy was born — not from a business plan, but from decades of hands-on experience and a genuine, deep love for animals.
My Own Furry (and Not-So-Furry) Family
I currently have six dogs, two cats, one ball python, three tarantulas, and a community of fish — all of which I love very dearly. Because of my love for my own animals, I am able to share that love with my clients' pets by providing them with a safe and reliable pet sitting experience. Pet sitting fills the void of wanting to adopt more — I get to love on animals every single day.
Why Senior Pets Hold a Special Place in My Heart
If I'm being honest, senior pets have a special place in my heart. There's something about a gray muzzle and slow tail wag that just gets me. These babies have spent their whole lives being loyal, loving, and present for their families. And when they get older, they don't need less care — they need MORE. More patience. More gentleness. More attention to the little things. When I care for a senior pet, everything is slow and intentional. I help them up if they need it. I make sure they have their medications on time, every time. I watch for changes — are they eating less? Drinking more? Moving differently? Every gray muzzle deserves kindness. Every slow walk deserves patience. And every senior dog deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and loved at home.
What "Treating Pets Like Family" Actually Looks Like
I say "your pets are family — I treat them that way," and I mean it with every fiber of my being. But what does it actually look like? It looks like me sitting on your kitchen floor at 10 PM because your dog is nervous and just needs someone close. It looks like me hand-feeding your cat who's being picky because I want to make sure they eat. It looks like me checking on your senior dog three extra times during the night because they seemed a little off at dinner. These details aren't in a manual. They come from paying attention. From caring. From treating every single animal like they matter — because they do.
The Fostering Years
I have fostered many animals over the years by working with dog and cat rescues. Those experiences shaped how I approach every pet I care for today. Fostering taught me patience, how to earn trust from animals who've been through hard times, and how to read body language in ways that go beyond what any training manual can teach. That same sensitivity is what I bring to every single booking with Stay With Lacy.
The HoneyOnDuty Connection
I am co-founder of a nonprofit called The HoneyOnDuty Project with my husband Stefan, our wonderful veterinarian at Ferry Farm Animal Clinic, Dr. Brianna Horricks, and our long-time friend and fellow pet sitter Jason. Being part of The HoneyOnDuty Project and running Stay With Lacy are two sides of the same mission: making sure every animal is treated with the love, dignity, and respect they deserve.
Meet Stefan — Provider for Drop-In Visits & Dog Walking
Stefan aka Lacy's Husband is a provider for dog walking and drop-in care, serving the same service area and rates as Lacy. When Stefan may be providing your care, you will meet him at the Meet & Greet — so your pets always meet a familiar face before any service begins.
Stefan's love for animals grew through Lacy. After a tragic car accident, he got a service dog named Honey, who changed his life. Together, they have traveled by airplane to 15 states on 33 different airplanes. Stefan has also adopted two dogs for the HoneyOnDuty Project. Through the project, they work in settings including public hospitals, hospice, and education systems. For nearly five years, Stefan has spent every day hands-on with animals and has demonstrated his love and care for them.
You can often find Lacy, Stefan, and Honey at the Long Family Farmers Market in North Stafford on Sundays — a great way to meet us in person before booking!
